How To Automatically Delete Forwarded Emails in CPanel

category:  cPanel

Lately, I set up a new host as well as the email accounts for my client. The host I use is Siteground. The host is really great. I have been using it for another e-commerce website(the site includes more than 5000 products) for a year without any issues. However, the plan that I bought for the email storage is limited to around 4 GB for each email account which is quite small for a small business. The solution that I come up with, is to forward the email account with the domain name I registered to the Gmail account that my client prefers to use.

For example, I register the domain as applerinquest.com. Then I want to forward contact@applerinquest.com to applerinquest@gmail.com. I don’t want to use the email storage from the host since it is limited to 4 GB but I do want to use my email with my domain name. How can I do that? Here is my solution.

  • Login to cPanel at your host
  • Go to Email section and click on the “Forwarders” icon
  • On the Forwarders page, click Add Forwarder button. Then enter contact@example.com for the “Address to Forward” field and example@gmail.com for the destination field(Forward to email address:). You should change the sample email to yours. Then click Add Forwarder button.
  • Next, you can test by sending the email to contact@example.com. You should get the forward email at example@gmail.com. This way you don’t use any email storage from your host. Instead, you will use the email storage from your destination email. But you be able to use the email with your registered domain name.

Hope this trick will be helpful.
